I really hope someone can help, even if you just say "You're an idiot, buy a new graphics card" or something. It's been playing the Sims fine for the first week or two I got it, now I just can't be bothered to even play it anymore. The fans definitely got louder when it froze. Maybe it restarted by its self, so I can forgive the first time it happened but not the second. My settings in the game are on laptop mode, and the other settings are on medium too so I don't think I'm asking too much from the game, right? When I started the laptop the other day it did say it needed to restart in order to complete an update, but it wasn't from Windows so I ignored it. Has anyone else had this problem? Since we're still in lockdown I've become addicted to sims again and this really sucks that the laptop doesn't seem to be able to handle it. It only started doing this yesterday, but did it twice in an hour so I gave up and left the laptop to cool down. It doesn't sit on my legs so the fans aren't blocked.
My boyfriend said it's because it's hot right now in the UK but I have the laptop on a stand. I've spent a lot of money on this new laptop and the games and I'm really bummed that I can't play it now for more than an hour at a time.
I've got all the game packs, expansion packs, mods etc for Sims and my old laptop (not the one that shut down randomly) handled it all fine even though it was a lot older. I had to do a force shut down because the laptop wasn't responding to anything I did. This laptop freezes on whatever I'm doing on the game, then the screen goes black and then it shuts down but it takes a while. I had this issue with my older laptop, but it shut down suddenly. It's not got a new graphics card or anything, just what the laptop comes with. I checked and the laptop meets the requirements for the game, so I don't understand. Hi! I recently got the Dell G3 3590 i7 laptop, and while I love it, it's becoming a problem to play Sims now because the laptop keeps shutting down.
